Dr. John F Robertson, Psychologist, PhD

One of my favorite authors, Walt Whitman expresses the essence of my approach ” What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared with what lies within us”. I believe that individuals, couples or families have the amazing capability of growing, healing and becoming more than anyone can predict because of that which is within us. Counseling and therapy is designed to guide and assist in this process. My approach is very interaction with the client always in control. I utilize evidence based methods based on a holistic assessment.
My focus and passion in counseling and therapy are in working with bipolar individuals, couples in conflict and those struggling with recovery from traumatic life circumstances.
My practice is noted for a sensitivity to the ethnic, cultural, gender and religious values of the diverse clients that I have treated.
